PULSE vol. 14

LeeAnn Cline • Mar 31, 2022

hello dear readers, instead of boring you with words for an intro...please enjoy a few photos of my magical trip to portugal. wow. i would highly recommend the charming town of porto to anyone who loves cozy old europe full of cobblestone walkways and no major roads. beautiful tile work & unique doors at every turn.

ready to plan your trip to vila nova de gaia or lisboa? here are the links to where i stayed in both cities which i would HIGHLY recommend to any of our readers.

hotel in vila nova de gaia:
House of Sandeman
hotel in lisboa:
Torel Palace Lisbon

so! now that i'm back and in routine - what is happening at MHF? well first of all, we are filled to the brim with bright, new accessories, unique glass wall art & beautiful rugs!

but even more exciting than the little beauties floating around is our amazing showcase of outdoor furniture. in this volume you get to meet ethan, enjoy a very portuguese inspired playlist, and of course lots of inspo!

well, as you can probably guess - the playlist this month is a little european inspired. while staying in Porto, there was a record player in my room & a little stack of vinyl to explore. i found susanne vega (had never heard of her before - had to ask my mom :D) and listened to her in the mornings while i got ready. quickly i fell in love with tom's diner, luka & more.

this playlist originally only had 4 songs - 3 by susanne & my favorite song i heard while on my trip: quantanamera. but that wasn't enough (haha) so i added in some traditional portuguese fado, and other suggestions.

CHANGE YOUR INTERIORS
SMALL IDEAS TO MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE.

so, i got home from europe and was like "I NEED TO REARRANGE MY HOUSE & GET ALL SORTS OF NEW THINGS TO MAKE IT FEEL PRETTY!" ...but really, sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest impacts.
here are a few quick, easy ideas for a little
spring refresh.

meals in portugal were full of fresh food, fruit sashimi for dessert, and all kinds of sangria. it has me in a headspace for yummy little bites that are unique, seasonal & flavorful.

here are a few recipes for you to enjoy & take to the next backyard get together!

  • Prosciutto & Melon Skewers

how beautiful! i LOVE food that doesn't require silverwear for a party, so i make skewers a lot! perfect for an easter brunch or any backyard get together!

in life, i love nothing more than pickles. so here i present you a chunk of swiss, ham with yummy mustard, topped with a mouthwatering baby dill! yep. i need to make these ASAP.

i went to an event last fall, and someone brought a pyrex full of bacon... & i have wanted to try it ever since! this recipe calls for a delicious brown sugar glaze. nom nom nom!

an elegant choice, this sofa marries sturdiness & style in a delightfully light way. for weather protection, the eucalyptus wood frame is treated to a 5 step finishing process. the included cushions & throw pillows are wrapped in our high-performing, low maintenance nuvella fabric.

a little bit cottage, a little bit cool with this weather resistant aluminum fire pit table. it includes a burner cover so you can use the full table space when needed!

this outdoor sectional is a natural choice if you like to be a bit more minimal. it's made of eucalyptus wood and has a clean line frame. the thick cushions are wrapped in a high performance fabric that is fade and stain resistant. (LOVE THIS SET)
